Whenever I hear someone say, I am vegan, it makes me cringe. I am not particularly a fan of vegan diet, mainly because it offers very limited choice of dishes. The fact is you can’t order anything besides a blend of different salads, fruit dishes and that’s it, the menu instantly runs out. But when I came across a fabulous vegan restaurant in Indianapolis that offered traditional vegan Egyptian dishes with a modern twist it almost changed my perception of vegan food. I went to this cozy little place 86th St with a friend and I was immediately taken up by its vibrant vegan menu. Contrary to the popular belief not just Egyptian but entire Middle Eastern cuisine can be regarded as a paradise for vegans all over the world. The cuisine makes use of fresh green and leafy vegetables, choicest grains and lentils. It also bakes one of the most delicious and nutritious flatbreads in the world. This makes dining at any of the Middle Eastern restaurants in Indianapolis a unique experience.


Some of the most celebrated dishes are the numerous dips which you can finish of with toasted or dip fried slices of pita, Egyptian flatbread. I bet you are already familiar with dips like humus, tahini and baba ghanauj.
